This publication marks the second paper from a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study of the patented extract of Dichrostachys glomerata, a West African spice rich in bioactive compounds, including flavonoids, polyphenols, alkaloids, tannins, saponins, and terpenoids. Previous Findings

The 60-day study involved 56 participants aged 25-60 (median age 44) with an average BMI of 31.66 who experienced poor sleep. Participants were given either a placebo or 300 mg of Somnoril daily.
New Findings on Weight Management and Quality of Life
The latest paper expands on Somnoril’s weight management benefits and its impact on overall quality of life in overweight and mildly obese adults. The study’s analysis at Baseline (Day 0), Day 30, and Day 60 used validated measurement tools to evaluate the effects of Somnoril on weight, mood, food cravings, anxiety, stress, and overall health.
Key Results:
Significant Weight Loss: Participants taking Somnoril lost an average of 4.11 lbs. compared to 2.19 lbs. in the placebo group (p = .05 at Day 60).
Reduced Food Cravings: A significant reduction in food cravings was observed in the Somnoril group at both 30 and 60 days (p < .001). Food cravings were measured using the Food Cravings Questionnaire, a validated six-point self-reporting tool.
Improved Mood and Reduced Stress: The study demonstrated a significant improvement in mood and reduction in perceived stress levels among participants taking Somnoril (p < .001). A notable decrease in anxiety was also observed.
Enhanced Health-Related Quality of Life: Participants taking Somnoril experienced significant improvements in their overall health, physical and mental well-being (p < .01), and fewer disruptions to their daily lives due to health issues compared to the placebo group (p < .05).
